What Takstkompass is

Takstkompass is a reference tool for clinicians who bill the Norwegian public scheme. Today for GPs and out-of-hours doctors, with more professions on the way. You enter the takst codes you are considering claiming, and get back what in the code set applies to that particular combination — in plain language, with a reference to the entry the explanation rests on.

The aim is to catch what is easy to miss on a busy day: codes that cover the same thing, add-ons that require a main code, or requirements for documented time spent.

What Takstkompass is not

• Not a verdict. The service never says that something is invalid. It points at what is worth a closer look and leaves the judgement to you.
• Not an approval. “No known conflicts” means we found nothing in our data set — not that the combination has been checked and cleared.
• Not a medical records system. We never receive or store anything about patients. See the privacy notice.
• Not official. Takstkompass is not affiliated with Helsedirektoratet, Helfo or Helsenorge, and has no role in processing claims.

Where the content comes from

Codes, rates and notes are taken from Helfo's open takst code set for doctors — the same code set Helsedirektoratet publishes. The rules are derived from its structured fields (invalid combinations, requirements for another code, minimum time spent, maximum counts and the note on evening codes), and every rule quotes the field it rests on. The data set is versioned, so it can be pulled again when Normaltariffen changes on 1 July each year without touching the code.

This version runs rule set helfo-le-2026-09-10, valid from 2026-09-01. The translation from code set to rules has not been reviewed by a doctor yet.
